When MM brought in the VIP option a few years ago I was so glad, as keeping to a maximum of 20 images was ridiculously tough!! When I paid for the upgrade I promised myself I would only have 2 pages, then it grew to 3 and 4 and then the full 5. But I think it was getting a little messy and dilluted. I think profiles that just have 20 mind-blowing images are great though, I have a lot of respect for people that can be that selective about the work they show. I wish I could be that ruthless, but it just seems impossible! I guess it's because Model Mayhem has always been my main online portfolio, since I started (other than my website) you cannot help but grow attached to them especially when you're proud of your work and it gets lots of positive feedback. But even the ones that weren't so popular that just had that special something to me, that had survived being axed a few times already, I still felt sad finally getting rid of them. I know it sounds pathetic but I'm sure some people understand what I mean :-) But it's gotta be done, and hopefully it's now a much stronger portfolio that shows a range of modelling skills and intrigues MM people enough to want to go see more on my website.
I was actually kind of naughty because although I deleted lots of old ones, I also added some fresh old ones too from the archives (like the one below) I know that's kind of moving backwards in a way, but I personally always enjoy seeing other images from popular sets of other models and photographers, so thought it would be cool to add some alternatives, even though some are 3/4 years ago, do I look loads different? I'm not sure, apart from changes in length of hair, I think it's still an honest representation; I still have good clear skin and am in pretty good shape, but I dated them all anyhow.
I'm feeling inspired after doing that though, and look forward to updating it with new fresh styles and looks soon! It's reminded me what I need to update, what I need to do more of and what I still aspire to achieve. If you get chance I'd love to know what you think...

Fine, diverse collection of photographs on MM. I think it does demonstrate your status in the business/art field very well. And of course your talent and beauty. I honestly was sort of overwhelmed by the large collection of seriously artistic photos. But that's just little ol' me not taking the time to really look at each one. Yet!
ReplyDeleteI about swallowed my gum when I saw the photo you placed on the profile page. WOW! ....That's if I chewed gum, lol.
Where are all your blog reader's comments? They are missing some good stuff here. Thanks for listening.
Thanks Larry, glad you like the one I added here, I love that too! Adore the colours Stephen captured.
ReplyDeleteAs for other comments, I think you've subscribed right? So you get sent a notification? And you're always pretty fast in your response, so that's why you're always first here :-) This entry has only just gone up, some other people will comment when they get chance to see this, some will go to MM hopefully and a lot tend to comment on facebook.
No, I haven't subscribed. I just check now and then when I'm reading the finanial news and I need a break. I forgot about your other media outlets where people would comment. I just assumed if you posted here people would comment here. I'm resisting Facebook because it feels too trendy. I'M A REBEL! lol
ReplyDeleteI'm still blown away by your Muse series. Love those!
Yeah, it would be nice to get more comments but I appreciate people are taking time out to have a look anyway, at least I get to see how many views I get on the analytics thing. I don't mind if they just want to look but it's super when you get some feedback too.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling UP, seeing how you comment on other blogs too, that if you joined facebook as well, the rest of your life would be over, don't do it! :-)
I'm happy I give you a break from the financial times, lol.
I like how these blogs seem to attract the artistic people. Facebook isn't for me. Social for me is seeing someone or picking up the phone.
ReplyDeleteI think I've exhausted the list a truely worth while blogs. Some get rather scary...........
Well this comment is not about what you have posted, but seeing the issue of what they are saying with UP, this site is more friendly than even myspace or facebook, gives us some photo amateur's an oportunity, to know the work of more artists of the lens, and especially the experience of a professional model like you.
ReplyDeleteI know there are more artists in MM, I've seen, but you can’t make a comment about their work, only to be registered.
On this site you can, you can comment and opinion and it is gratifying to see the attention you put to each of them and us.
Really blogger it’s great site.
Saludos¡¡¡¡
P.S. (on more point, I’m practicing my English)
Change is good, you've inspired me to have a massive clear out of all my old images and to make them all fit together a bit better.
ReplyDeleteHaving the capability to include lots of photos is good but models can often have so many photos it makes looking at the portfolio confusing, especially if old and new are jumbled together giving no clear indication of their current look etc
Eeh, pretty! I remember that photo set, it's one of the ones that inspired me to start shooting nudes in the first place :D
ReplyDeleteI totally know what you mean about deleting photos. I'm just too weak- my MM port is at the full 100 photos :0
