Taken by Dublin based photographer Niall Whelan last November... the theme of the shoot was a blend of 20's flapper and 40's glamour... J'adore! :) Make up by the super talented Ruth Lawlor, styling by the lovely Lorraine Gillingham!Thursday, 21 January 2010

Falling Light
I love these two by Manuel Odabashian... taken at Adrian Pini's studio in London. Beautiful lighting, so classic!

Freestyle
It's really inspiring when you're able to just let yourself go on a shoot, when the brief is to just make interesting shapes. I don't have a gymnastic background so the only stuff I can do is just from practising and pushing my flexibility. You get used to poses you can do well, but it's awesome to have a complete freestyle. I usually have a bit of a blank at first with studio shoots, but sometimes that's a good thing as you have an open mind so can just start moving and see where your body takes you. I like wriggling around and stretching and twisting and bending and arching, a bit of creative pain, it feels good, and only cripples you for a few days ;)
These photos are by Brett @ D-Eye Photography who is based in Canberra, Australia. It was such an enjoyable shoot, he was really open minded and it was great to collaborate our ideas & experiment with lighting. These are my faves of some images he just sent me... I'd wanted to try out that last arched position for ages, but knew I needed a hand getting into the position, and being rescued from it! It was a bit tricky to hold, but it was worth it :)
