Flower Fairy

I love these soft, romantic images taken by Keith Cooper at WhiteSpaceStudios in Chesham, just before Christmas. I'd recently bought a transparent hooped underskirt and teamed it with a vine of pink flowers, which I thought could look really cute and dainty. We set up the lighting to shoot at the bright wall behind me, with large bounce boards at the front to reflect at my face and body, whilst the light shone through illuminating my skirt and hair, resulting in a lovely ethereal look.

I think there's a real feeling of purity and innocence here. I kept my make-up pretty natural, but added extra pink blush and lip colour to enhance the girlieness. I wonder if I should have smiled a bit more, but I quite like the dreamy withdrawn expression, if I remember rightly we had calm classical music playing whilst we shot, it's always interesting to see if that translates to the pictures, I really love shooting to evocative music.

Colourful Portraits

...taken by Richard Toplis on my day in Essex last week. We shot in the yard outside the studio we were working in, which was far from picturesque, but proves you can get superb, engaging portraits if you take advantage of the natural daylight and just look for interesting colours and textures in the background. The metal containers provided great backdrops against my red hair, and the brick walls looked great for closely cropped portraits with a bit of light bounced upward from a reflecter. The results Richard captured are so eyecatching, especially with his use of the shallow depth of field to draw you into my expression. I chose coloured knitted clothing to enhance my colouring and add extra detail, whilst the white cloudy sky acted as a giant softbox for a very flattering light on my skin and made all the colours pop. Love them! Job well done!!

We spent the rest of our 2 hour shoot trying our different styles and accessories in the studio, which I think have a very sensual, antique sort of feel. I do like brown backdrops, think they give a great warm, old style effect. I had a very enjoyable day working there (with 2 other photographers also) and I'm arranging another visit that way in February so I'll be back to Essex soon! :-)

Peardrops

Another fabulous shot captured by Max Operandi (see our other shots here) alongside the delectable Rebecca Tun. I think we look pretty awesome here together! Rebecca is such a sweet and beautiful model, so delicate and elegant but also so strong in her style, it's such a pleasure to pose with her and I hope we get to work together more this year :-)

Black Magic

More from the gorgeous shoot with Sparklewren! Photography by the talented Sean Elliot. Location is Newcastle bar 'Nancy's Bordello'. I think I look a bit of a spoilt madam in these ones, and love the intricate backgrounds and atmospheric use of light that picks up all the wonderful dark and glistening details of the corset and collar.

Found Artworks

I recently came across quite a few more art works inspired by photographs taken of me, on RedBubble and DeviantArt. I don't always know when people do these, as technically they only have to contact the photographer for permission (note to anyone wondering: this is always a must before any work is published). But if there's anyone else out there who've created work of me, please do let me know as I find it really interesting to see myself in other mediums, especially being from an art background myself, and it's always good to showcase them. I love these! :-)

Celestial Forms

I was looking through my files and I don't know why I took so long to post these ones, they are so wonderful, from my last trip to Holland working with Eric. Always one fascinated by every curve and crease of the body in equal passionate measure, nothing escapes the eye of Mr Kellerman as he baths his models in moonlit style lighting.

When picking which images to show here on my blog, I feel more like I'm curating an art exhibition, as each piece, to me, both sings in harmony with the rest of the collection and is also a masterpiece of it's own. I absorb so much from viewing them. In some I feel like I'm looking at more of a strange and wonderful sculpted ornament. It makes me want to be a sculptor! Some glow like paintings, some feel disconnected, then suddenly they appear so fleshy it's like I can feel them breathing. His photography is just so beautiful, it's like I can't quite grasp hold of it, it feels alive because it floods and changes my feelings. It pulls at me like the ebb and flow of a wave on a beach pebble. Maybe someone knows what I mean :-)

Please do click on each image to view them at the larger size. I hope you like them, I would love to know your thoughts. Any feedback is so appreciated and always helpful to me.
