And of course, if images here and the way I work inspires you, please don't just sit and watch - book me for a shoot! :-) I may not be able to get to all parts of the world, but certainly anywhere in the UK, Scotland, Ireland, Europe... and possibly further. I can recommend studios around England as well as locally to me, and regularly travel around but if you don't let me know you want to work with me, I might come to your area without you knowing... so EMAIL ME! :-D Directly to holly@ivoryflame.co.uk with your name, location, a link to your work, an introduction about your situation, aims or constraints, and we can discuss possibilities.
And the same for any other models you want to work with. There's such a great selection of creative, unique & stunning professional models out there right now, who have worked hard to build experience, skill and inspiration for creating great imagery, but modelling as a full time living is not without it's hard times, difficulties & frustrations as well as it's perks. So if you like their style, with whatever you can afford - support them in their work. They will be able to help you capture your visions, listen to your ideas, have patience with your experiments, take the quality to the next level and probably go off on a brilliant tangent or two, and if you're feeling unsure about styles or concepts, be always happy to help out with suggestions.
This may sound like a big sell, but I'm trying to be more assertive this year rather than leaving a lot of communications open-ended. I'm always worried about sounding too pushy, but I realise sometimes everyone needs a bit of well-meant encouragement in these busy times. Having not done as much of my own photography in the last year or so, I understand how easy it can be to put things off, not feel confident enough, not have enough 'spare' money or to be vague about plans. But I realise this gets me nowhere and I want to progress - stop thinking so much and start doing. So I'm certainly gonna be booking in with some of my favourite models and making shoots happen.
I'm leaving you with a selection of some of my favourite images that I blogged in 2011... a bit of an epic task since I adore the pics in EVERY blog, but I think this is a nice representation of my year! The links to each blog with more detail and where it was taken are below each image.
Thank you to everyone that booked me as their model this last year, I gratefully appreciate it... the new photographers that booked me for their first shoots, the people that booked me whilst travelling to the UK, the painters, sculptors and designers who used me for their projects, those that helped organise workshops and studio days, everyone that booked me on my own travel trips, and those who booked me again and again for continued collaboration.
I look forward so much to what I can be involved in next! May 2012 hold much creativity, reward and enjoyment in your art for you all! :-)

ReplyDeleteYes! Eventually it dawns on a person that if you want something to happen you have to take the first decisive step towards *making* it happen. I think you're going to have an amazing year Ms Flame, you don't come across as pushy at all :-)
Love the selection of images here (and thank you for including a Sparklewren shot!). You're always so attentive to the light, the style, the photographer and the requirements of any designers/stylists on hand... in short, a total dream to work with and I'm glad you can look back on 2011 with a well-deserved sense of happiness.
A great summary of the year, and so many great images (a couple of mine as well - yay, thanks :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to working with you again in 2012. we do need to find you a pair of red stilettos :)

Aww, Holly.
ReplyDeleteWell said, as always.
Looking through your selection of favourite images, one thing just screams at me:
You. Are. A. True. Artist.
Your work defies anyone who fails to recognise that models are artists in their own right.
Inspiring, and beautiful as always.
xx
Yay! Lovely post. :)
ReplyDeleteSumptuous selection.
ReplyDeleteAnd what range.
(damn, in the 10 minutes it's taken me to compose those two lines I've had an idea - I'll be in touch)
They are such beautiful images Holly (and thank you for including one of mine !)and all so different in terms of looks, emotion, lighting etc - just shows how versatile you are !
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog posts.

ReplyDeleteIf us Scorpios can't be pushy - er, sorry, assertive...then no-one can! (and for 'us Scorpios', read 'us self-employed' too). Yours is an insightful and intelligent blog and to post that many entries to the standard you have done is a great achievement. As you know, I'm so pleased with what we achieved last year and look forward to our next session.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for the comments on here, and I had some lovely ones on my fb page and by email too. Made me feel really emotional and happy, and proud to be in such a good community :-)
ReplyDeleteHello Holly :)
ReplyDeleteI've discovered your website and blog for several months and I find you as a very inspiring model. I am a french art model from Paris, passionnated by this experience (working the most with schools, ateliers Beaux-Arts of Paris - sorry for my approximate english! -, and various artists, I do some photoshoots when I have some free time), and I am happy to visit regularly your pages because I can feel you are passionnated too, and that you love sharing your experiences with others.
I like much your grace, your beauty and the way you express yourself, and your love for art and aestheticism. I appreciate the quality of your collaborations too.
I would love to do a shooting with you! I think it would be fun and interesting!
Thank you for sharing your passion.
